Getting started
Chrono Atlas lets you move through historical periods, explore civilizations on a world map, read landmark stories, complete short interactions, and unlock collectible history cards. No account or sign-in is required.
What is Landmark Atlas — Lifetime?
Landmark Atlas — Lifetime is an optional, one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that permanently unlocks every premium landmark available in Chrono Atlas. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
You can still browse every civilization without purchasing Landmark Atlas — Lifetime. Free landmarks remain available, while locked landmark cards can be previewed before you decide whether to unlock the complete collection.
How do I purchase Landmark Atlas — Lifetime?
- Open any civilization from the world map.
- Tap a landmark card marked with a lock.
- Review the one-time price shown by the App Store.
- Tap the purchase button and confirm the purchase with Apple.
Apple processes the payment. Chrono Atlas does not receive or store your full payment card details.
Why is there a Restore Purchases button?
Restoring does not make a new purchase and does not charge you again. It asks Apple to synchronize an existing Landmark Atlas — Lifetime purchase when you reinstall the app, move to another device, or believe the app is not showing your entitlement correctly.
How do I restore Landmark Atlas — Lifetime?
- Open a locked landmark to show the Landmark Atlas screen.
- Tap Restore Purchases.
- If Apple asks, authenticate with the Apple Account that made or received the eligible purchase.
StoreKit normally restores eligible purchases automatically. Use the button when the unlocked state has not appeared. If no eligible purchase is associated with the current Apple Account, Chrono Atlas will report that there is nothing to restore.
Does Landmark Atlas — Lifetime support Family Sharing?
Landmark Atlas — Lifetime supports Apple's Family Sharing where available. Family members must belong to an eligible Family Sharing group and meet Apple's purchase-sharing requirements. Availability and synchronization are controlled by Apple and can vary by account or storefront.
I purchased Landmark Atlas — Lifetime, but it is still locked
- Confirm that your device has an internet connection and can reach the App Store.
- Close and reopen Chrono Atlas.
- Tap Restore Purchases.
- Confirm that the App Store is using the Apple Account associated with the purchase.
- Install the latest Chrono Atlas update.
If the problem continues, contact support and include the app version, device model, iOS version, and a screenshot of the message shown in the app. Do not send your Apple Account password, payment card number, or other sensitive payment information.
How do I request a refund?
Apple manages App Store purchases and refund decisions. To request or review a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase. If Apple refunds or revokes the purchase, premium landmarks may become locked again. Existing local exploration progress is not intentionally deleted.
Does Chrono Atlas need an internet connection?
Chrono Atlas connects to its content delivery service to download history content and images, and to Apple services for product information, purchases, restoration, and update checks. Previously downloaded content may remain available offline, but first-time content downloads and purchase synchronization require an internet connection.
Where is my progress stored?
Your completed landmarks, unlocked cards, and recent exploration are stored only on your current device. Chrono Atlas does not currently provide accounts, cloud backup, or cross-device progress synchronization. Uninstalling the app may remove this local progress. A Landmark Atlas — Lifetime purchase is managed separately by Apple and can be restored with the eligible Apple Account.
How do I change the app language?
- Open the iOS Settings app.
- Open Apps, then select Chrono Atlas.
- Choose Language and select English or Simplified Chinese.
- Open Chrono Atlas again.
If your device uses another language, Chrono Atlas defaults to English.
How do I use story narration?
Open a landmark story and use the narration control to start, pause, continue, or stop narration. The app downloads prerecorded narration for the current content language when available. If recorded audio is unavailable, it falls back to an available iOS system voice. System voice availability can vary by device and installed voices.
How do I save an unlocked card?
Open an unlocked card in the Codex, show its preview, and tap the save button. Chrono Atlas requests permission to add the image to Photos. If saving is unavailable, open iOS Settings, select Chrono Atlas, and allow it to add photos.
