Chrono Atlas Privacy Policy
Chrono Atlas does not require an account and does not use advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. Your exploration progress stays on your device.
1. Overview
Chrono Atlas is an educational history exploration app provided by YONGWEI RUAN. This Privacy Policy explains how the Chrono Atlas iOS app handles information and how you can contact us with privacy questions.
2. Information handled by the app
Chrono Atlas does not ask you to create an account and does not collect or upload your exploration history. The app handles the following information on your device:
- Completed landmarks, unlocked cards, recent exploration, and related progress data are stored locally on your device.
- Update-reminder preferences are stored locally on your device.
- If you choose to save an unlocked card, Chrono Atlas requests add-only Photos access and writes that image to your photo library. The app does not read your existing photos.
- Story narration uses Apple's system speech capabilities. Chrono Atlas does not record your voice or upload narration text to a server operated by us.
3. Network connections and third-party services
The current release packages its history content and images inside the app. Chrono Atlas may contact Apple's public App Store lookup service to check whether a newer app version is available. Apple may process technical network information, such as an IP address, according to Apple's own privacy practices.
This policy and the Chrono Atlas support page are hosted with GitHub Pages. When you visit those web pages, GitHub may process standard web request information according to the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
4. Support communications
If you email support, we receive the email address, message, and any information you choose to include. We use it only to respond to your request, investigate problems, and maintain support records as reasonably necessary. Do not include sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.
5. Tracking, advertising, analytics, and sale of data
Chrono Atlas does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal information.
6. Retention and deletion
App progress remains on your device until you remove it through normal device or app-management actions. Uninstalling Chrono Atlas may delete its local progress. Chrono Atlas currently does not provide an account, cloud backup, or cross-device synchronization. Support emails may be retained as reasonably needed to respond, keep support history, protect the service, or meet legal obligations.
7. Children
Chrono Atlas is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact us so we can review the request.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date.
